‘Alive in Christ ‘– In less than a month, many women from all over Georgia will gather for an exciting weekend of worship, inspiration, and fellowship as we participate in the 2018 Georgia Baptist Women Spring Event at Stone Mountain on April 13-14 (www.gabaptistwomenspringevent.com). Many hours of planning and preparation have already taken place to ensure that those attending will be encouraged and blessed by the music, missionary speakers, conference leaders, and so much more. As we approach these last weeks of preparation, we ask you to partner with us in praying each day that all who attend will be prepared to hear God speak clearly and that lives will be changed.
The theme for this year is ‘Alive in Christ’ based on the scripture from Ephesians 2:4-5 – ‘But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved’. We often focus on the fact that we are physically alive – much time is spent on ensuring that we stay healthy by eating the right foods and exercising. But God wants us to focus even more on the fact that as believers we are spiritually alive in Christ – that we spend time exercising our time with Him in prayer and feasting on His Word that we might be fully alive in Him.
As we prepare our hearts and think about being ‘Alive in Christ’, please pray and meditate on these scriptures this week – for yourself and for those attending the Spring Event:
Ø March 19 – ‘God, because of Your mercy and Your great love for me, even when I was dead in my trespasses, You have made me alive in Christ’ (Ephesians 2:4-5)
Ø March 20 – ‘Because I am in Christ, I have been made a new creation – the old has passed away and the new has come’ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Ø March 21 – ‘I was buried with Christ by baptism unto death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, I too might walk in newness of life’ (Romans 6:4)
Ø March 22 – ‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed me in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places even as He chose me in Him before the foundation of the world, that I should be holy and blameless before Him’ (Ephesians 1:3-4)
Ø March 23 – ‘For by grace I have been saved through faith, and this is not my own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that I can boast; for I am His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that I should walk in them’ (Ephesians 2:8-10)
Ø March 24 – ‘I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me’ (Galatians 2:20)
Ø March 25 – ‘In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His Only Son into the world, so that I might live through Him.’ (1 John 4:9)
Praise God! – ‘In Christ alone, my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song’ (Keith Getty)
